About two years ago I decided to start a blog and then added a membership to it. Today the membership has grown to 4,133 active members. See proof below:
I have an open door policy with my members and they often ask me questions. Over the years I found that people ask mainly three questions:
- How do I start to build an online business?
- How do I make money online?
- How do I get more traffic?
The first question is very easy to answer.
How to start building an online business
Choose a topic that interest you and start building a prospect list of people who are also interested in your chosen topic.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Who are your target market?
- Where can you find these people?
- What are their main problems?
- How can you help them to overcome these obstacles?
The second question is more difficult to answer.
How can you make money online?
The reason why it’s difficult to answer is the fact that it is actually the wrong question to ask.
You get paid money for the delivery of something valuable.
The right question should be:
“How can I deliver value to my customers so that they will reward me with money?”
To answer this question is easy.
What skills do you have that you can use to create value with for your ideal customers?
What knowledge do you have that can benefit your customers so that they can achieve what they desire?

Example: If you know how to create a good lead capture page and your main market is newbies that want to build their list, then this is value that you can offer them.
You can also teach them how to link the capture page to their autoresponder with an opt-in form. You can also show them how to add their follow-up email series to their autoresponder.
The more skills you have, the more you can charge for your service or products.
Another way to earn is to get your affiliate links for the tools that you use to do online marketing and then tell your customers about it and provide your links. When they buy those tools through your links, you will earn a commission.
To get them to buy through your links, just show them the results that you get by using the tools and services. No hard selling would be necessary. Do it just like you would suggest a good restaurant to a friend.
Now for the third question.
How to get more traffic?
Again, this is the wrong question to ask. You should first ask how you can utilize the traffic that I do get, better?
Most new online marketers just think that by getting more traffic to see their offers would make them more money. That is not really what would happen if you don’t have a proven method to market.
First of all, you should only strive to get targeted traffic – people that would be interested in what you have to offer. Use targeted traffic sources to first get leads to build your prospect list. You can then “educate” your list members in what works for you and show them your results. They will then be more inclined to buy what you offer them.
There is one thing that will never work for you and that is to send traffic directly to your affiliate link. More than 99% will not even look at your offer and you will lose them forever. Those that do buy, will become the vendor’s customer and you might earn a small commission, but they will never be your customer again.
First get them to become part of your list and then you still don’t send them your affiliate link directly. The correct way is to first prepare them and then ask them to view your offer. Take one aspect of your offer and create a bridge page where you explain how you solved a problem and then only give them your link.
You can even offer a bonus that will help them to get better results with the affiliate product. This will sweeten the deal for them and if your bonus has high value, they might even buy just to get their hands on your bonus.
Once your buyers get good results with their purchase, they might tell their friend about you or give them your link to also buy through it. Word of mouth is the best free advertising that you can get, and your online business will start to prosper.
Now we come to answer the question how you can even earn more with less traffic?
Use Automation to Earn More with Less Traffic
With the right funnel you can get multiple sales with the same traffic. You first build a relationship of trust with your list members and then you plug them into a funnel that offer them multiple steams of income.
You use an excellent lead magnet to get people to subscribe to your list. This gift should show them the high quality of the content that you can provide them. If there is value in it for them then they will be keen to see what paid offers you have for them.
With your follow-up emails, you further show them what to expect by discussing several features and benefits of your main offer. Your main offer is again free to use and they will gladly accept it. When they subscribe to your sales funnel, they will first come upon an low ticket OTO (one-time-offer). This will immediate turn them into a buyer.
If they don’t take the OTO, then they will have to pay much more for it once they are inside your system. Inside the system they will receive all the training that they need to get more targeted traffic to further build their list.
You link your autoresponder directly to the funnel so that every new subscriber gets added to your list automatically. You don’t lose them when they buy other products or services inside the funnel, they stay your members and you’ll earn commission when they buy forever.
You can even earn a commission when your referrals make sales.
