Your Customer’s Dream Outcome
Their Dream Outcome
It is particularly important to know what the results will be for your students. You need to know exactly which steps they need to take to get the desired results.
Begin by writing out what result they will have to achieve to reach their goal. Make certain that the sequence is in the correct order so that they can get early results. It will encourage them to keep at it and not to give up.
Each major step can become one of your sessions or main modules. Give them appropriate names and it will form the outline of your course.
As an example, we can look at the outline of this course:
- Introduction to course creation
- Planning your course
- Creating your introduction
- Creating your lessons
- Creating your final lesson
- Uploading your course
- Marketing your course
The next step is to see what lessons you must create for each session. List your ideas under each heading of your outline and make certain that you give them in the right sequence.
Here is an example of how this course is structured:
Module 1 – Introduction to course creation
- Lesson 1 – Introduction
Session 2 – Planning your course
- Lesson 1 – Your main idea
- Lesson 2 – Your ideal customer
- Lesson 3 – Their dream outcome
Session 3 – Creating your introduction and final lesson
- Lesson 1 – Your introduction
- Lesson 2 – Your final lesson
Session 4 – Creating your lessons
- Lesson creation
Session 5 – Uploading your course
- Lesson 1 – Platform choice
- Lesson 2 – Your main page
- Lesson 3 – Your audience statement
- Lesson 4 – Your modules
Session 6 – Marketing your course
- Lesson 1 – Getting your first customers
- Lesson 2 – Building your email list
Session 7 – What is Next?
- Lesson 1 – Next phase
Always keep in mind what the dream outcome would be for your customer.
When they know what the outcome will be, they will put in the effort to achieve it. Try to establish what their “WHY” would be. Think back why you were able to persevere until you had succeeded.
Show them how they would feel once they get the results that they want by giving them all the necessary steps in the correct sequence.
Today your main aim should be to complete the outline of your course with all the necessary lessons. Do not worry if you do not get it perfect the first time. You can always edit it later.
I have even been changing my outline when I was typing it out above. My father always said that paper is patient. Today it is even easier to change things when you type it out on your computer.
I use Microsoft Word but if you do not have it, then Open Office is a free alternative, and you can use it just as well.
Once you have typed out your lessons then you can save it in a Course directory that you create inside your Documents directory on your hard drive.
Once you are satisfied with it you can export each lesson as a PDF file. It is the format needed to upload to the course platform.
Again, I have good news for you. There are several platform options that you can use but I will show you how you can start with a free option in session 6.
In the next session we will discuss your course introduction and closure. It is a little bit different from the other lessons.
